Why the Phase 1 Diet?
It is very well documented that fungi are parasites of man. They should not be inside the human body, but they have several portals of entry, including the skin, the lungs and even the food we eat! Certain fungi make a poisonous substance known as a “mycotoxin.” To see the rest of this article go to http://www.know-the-cause.com/AboutUs/OurFrequentlyAskedQuestions/tabid/77/Default.aspx You will find Frequently Asked Questions on Know the Cause
What food are OK on Phase 1?
EGGS
FRUIT, berries, grapefruit, lemon, lime, green apples, avocado, fresh coconut
MEATS, virtually all meat including fish, poultry and beef
VEGETABLES, Most fresh, unblemished vegetables and freshly made vegetable juice (no potatoes, corn or mushrooms)
BEVERAGES, bottled or filtered water, non-fruity herbal teas, stevia sweetened fresh lemonade or limeade, freshly squeezed carrot juice (see below)
VINEGAR, apple cider vinegar OILS, olive, grape, flax seed, cold pressed virgin coconut oil NUTS, raw nuts, including pecans, almonds, walnuts, cashews, and pumpkin seeds. Stored nuts tend to gather mold, so be careful!
SWEETENERS, Stevia, Stevia Plus, birch tree extracted Xylitol
DAIRY, Organic Butter, Organic Yogurt, (use the following very sparingly) cream cheese, unsweetened whipping cream, real sour cream.
I've been using xylitol produced from Birch Tree not corn cobs as my sweetner. I also know it's safe for diabetics and it's all natural.
I highly suggest getting the Fungus Link books on audio. I bought the trilogy and it was expensive but worth every cent to be informed. I gave up on Doctors years ago as a matter of fact when I do go to my family Doctor the first thing she asks me is, What's your diagnosis? Thankfully she allows me to practice my natural medicine under her watchful eye.

Candida What is it?
Candida albicans prefers people. Candida enters newborn infants during or shortly after birth. Usually, the growth of the yeast is kept in check by the infant's immune system and thus produces no overt symptoms. But, should the immune response weaken, the condition known as oral thrush can occur as a result. By six months of age, 90% of all babies test positive for candida . And by adulthood, virtually all humans play host to Candida albicans and are thus engaged in a life-long relationship. To view the rest of this article go to:

What does a Phase 1 Dinner look like?
Yes you can have this on phase 1
This recipe came about after a day of really wanting some desert. Our family has dairy allergies so we used goat cheese, but you may try it with regular cream cheese.
1 lb Chevre Goat Cheese*
1 tsp Cinnamon
2 Eggs
1/4 cp Xylotol*
1/2 cp Walnuts chopped
1/4 Unsweetened Whip topping whipped mixed with 1 tsp of xylotol
Preheat oven to 350
combine the first 4 ingredients and mix. Meanwhile scatter walnuts over pie pan that has been sprayed with non-stick spray. Pour ingredients over walnuts bake until set. 20-30 minutes
Wait for pie to completly cool and top with whipped topping and sprinkle with more powdered xylotol.
* most health food sections have xylotol which is an all natural sugar that tastes great and prevents cavities and has NO side affects.
* Not all chevre are the same. Some have a powdery after taste which can affect the tast of this pie.
Well I have to admit it's not gourmet, but it served it's purpose!
Eating your way to breast cancer?
I found this interesting article:
Are you eating your way to breast cancer? What if you found out that if you consume foods such as peanut butter and beef, you might well be eating fungal toxins that could cause breast cancer?Would you change your diet? Would you cleanse your body? One of the most common hormones used with cattle is zearalone, which is a fungal product whose toxic byproducts cause breast tumors. Actually, a whole host of foodstuffs contain fungal toxins. Mycotoxins are toxic fungal metabolites that are structurally diverse. Yet they are common contaminants of the ingredients in animal feed and human food. They or their effects can be transmitted from animal feed to the animal to humans. To date, mycotoxins with carcinogenic potency in experimental animal models include aflatoxins, sterigmatocystin, ochratoxin, fumonisins, zearalenone, and some penicillium toxins. In one 1993 study, researchers examined human breast cancer tissue for evidence of the presence of aflatoxin, a recognized potent carcinogenic mycotoxin found in inferior peanut butter and other nut and dairy products. Sweet Breakfast with No Guilt
I made this for breakfast one day after I was tired of having savory eggs everyday. I whisked some eggs with cinnamon and xylotol. Next, I reduced some chopped green apples with the juice of one orange. I didn't find out until after I made it that oranges are not on either phase 1 or phase 2. However you can still make the reduction with a little bit of water and green apples.
The benefits of an antifungal program
Here is an excerpt from http://www.wholebodywellnesssolutions.com/fungus101.html
There are millions of Americans who I believe would benefit tremendously by taking antifungal remedies, but one major problem exists-physicians rarely prescribe them because they feel that infectious agents are almost exclusively bacterial or viral. Through the years, when symptoms of unknown etiology (cause) exist, I have asked hundreds of physicians to prescribe a nontoxic, no-side-effect drug called Nystatin in hopes of reversing the symptom or disease in the patients. Rarely has this occurred, however, for two reasons: So often, the prescribing physician does not believe in the fungus-disease phenomenon, and also he is concerned that Nystatin may harm the liver of the patient. The fungus-disease link is very well documented in the scientific literature, the same literature that also documents the harmlessness of Nystatin. What is an educated patient to do when an antifungal approach seems so logical to them, yet their physician will not prescribe antifungal drugs? First and most importantly, understand why the physician will not prescribe antifungal drugs, because there may be a very good reason. Ask the doctor if he would object to your trying the antifungal diet and natural, nontoxic antifungal remedies. Most docs will not object, believing that these antifungal remedies are not as strong as antifungal drugs; yet, as you will read, some are more capable of killing fungus than even the most powerful antifungal drugs.
